Doorbells and locks that keep working after we leave

Wired right, aligned right, Wi-Fi strong enough at the door — the three details that decide whether smart front-door gear delights you or drives you crazy.

What this actually involves

We install these two together so often it is practically one service: see who is at the door from anywhere, and let the right people in without hiding a key under the mat. Done properly, both are boring and reliable — and properly is the whole trick.

Video doorbells

Wired into your existing chime circuit when possible — no battery to babysit — with the transformer checked, because a weak one is the #1 cause of doorbells that keep dying.

Smart locks

Schlage, Kwikset, Yale and more — installed with the door and strike plate aligned so the motor never strains. Misalignment is what eats batteries and kills locks.

Wi-Fi that reaches the door

Front doors sit at the edge of most networks. We check signal where the device lives — and fix it if it is weak, because no app setup survives bad signal.

Apps, codes & people

Every phone in the family connected, codes set per person, old codes cleared, notifications tuned — working before we pull out of the driveway.

The part that matters

Three details decide everything

The transformer: video doorbells draw far more power than the 1980s button they replace, and a tired 16-volt transformer produces exactly the symptoms people blame on Wi-Fi — random offline, dead in the evening, endless recharging. We test it and upgrade it when it is the problem.

The alignment: a smart lock’s motor throws the same bolt your hand did — if the door binds, the motor grinds until it gives up. Every lock we install gets the strike plate aligned first, which is why ours run months per battery set instead of weeks. The signal: both devices live at the far edge of your Wi-Fi; we measure it at the door and fix weak coverage instead of shipping you a problem.

What our customers say

Yelp

Kalieb Designs did a great job of mounting my 70″ flat screen on my living room wall. Quick and professional service. I am very happy with the service I received and will definitely use them again for any future electronic needs.

Kalieb and his team arrived today to mount my LG QLED TV above my fireplace. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome! Prior to their arrival, I posed endless questions and sent far too many texts. He was extremely patient and courteous. I would highly recommend Kalieb Designs and cannot wait to call them back for the next install.

Yelp

★★★★★

Kalieb and his helper showed up to hang five TVs and run the power for each. These guys showed up on time, bright and early. One of my mounts would not work so he had one on his truck, and he even ran an extra plug from a different bedroom for my daughter’s room. It’s been almost two weeks, not one problem, everything looks great and it’s square.

Straight answers

Questions we get asked every week

Can you install a video doorbell if I have no existing doorbell wiring?

Yes — battery models work anywhere, or we can run proper low-voltage wire for a wired unit, which is worth it: no charging, better performance, and it powers your indoor chime.

Which smart lock should I buy?

Ask us before you buy — the honest answer depends on your door, whether you rent, and what phones your family uses. The phone consult is free and takes five minutes.

Will these work with my existing cameras or Alexa?

Usually, within the same ecosystem — and we will tell you plainly when two brands won't talk to each other before you spend anything.

Do you do rentals and Airbnbs?

Constantly — code-per-guest locks and doorbells across units are our property-manager bread and butter. One invoice, every unit standardized.
