What goes into a room

What this actually involves

A home theater is four decisions: what you watch it on, what you hear it through, where the equipment lives, and how none of it ends up visible. We work through all four before anything gets ordered.

Projector or panel

Throw distance, ceiling height and how much light the room gets decide this, not the spec sheet. We measure before recommending.

Screen and placement

Fixed frame, motorised or a big flat panel. Sized to the seating distance so nobody is sitting in the front row of a cinema.

Speakers that fit the room

In-ceiling, in-wall or floor standing, positioned for where the seats actually are — then calibrated rather than guessed.

Equipment out of sight

Receiver, streaming boxes and power in a rack or a cabinet, ventilated properly, with one remote that runs the lot.

The part that matters

The wiring is what you are really paying for

Anyone can put a screen on a wall. The part that separates a theatre room from a TV in a dark room is what happens inside the walls: speaker runs to the right places, HDMI with enough headroom for what you will own in five years, and dedicated power where the equipment actually lives.

We run it before the drywall goes back on where we can, label both ends, and leave you a diagram. If someone else works on the room later, they will be able to follow it.

What our customers say

Yelp

★★★★★

I really want to give Kalieb and crew 10 stars. We live where power gets turned off by Edison. I told this to Kalieb and he made it here to install the receiver and do all the connections needed before the power went out. I now have this amazing system and it’s all due to them. I highly recommend this company.

Extremely professional, responsive and knowledgeable. Had other audio/visual companies look at my TV issues without solutions. Kalieb within 15 minutes found the issue, corrected it, and didn’t charge for a small item that needed replacing. Look no further if you have any audio/visual issues.

Excellent craftsmanship, I can tell he takes pride in his work. He updated our 1970’s condo and now our grand kids think we’re cool! Thanks again, I highly recommend!

Questions we get asked every week

How big a room do I need?

Smaller than people expect. A 12 by 14 room does a very respectable job with a 100 inch screen and five speakers. What matters more than floor area is light control and where the seats can go.

Projector or a big TV?

If you can make the room reasonably dark, a projector gives you far more screen for the money. If the room has a lot of glass and you watch during the day, a large panel will look better. We will tell you honestly which one your room suits.

Can you work with the equipment I already own?

Yes, and we will tell you which parts are worth keeping. There is no reason to replace a receiver that is doing its job.

Do you do the seating and the room itself?

We handle everything technical — screen, sound, wiring, control, calibration — and we will happily advise on seating positions and acoustic treatment. Construction work we would refer on.

Ready for a real theatre room?

Describe the room over the phone and we will tell you what it needs and what it costs. Phone quotes are free.
